Consumed Film and Non-GMO Information & Food Fair

April 12, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$9.50

Food Conspiracy Co-op, Melissa Diane Smith author of Going Against GMOs, High Energy Agriculture, and The Loft Cinema co-present a non-GMO Information & Food Fair and screening of Consumed on Tuesday, April 12th at the Loft Cinema in cooperation with GMO Free Baja Arizona, March Against Monsanto Tucson, Organic, Sustainable Baja Arizona, and GMO Free Arizona.

Consumed is a dramatic thriller set in the complex world of GMOs.  It’s the first narrative feature film about the topic told in deeply personal ways. The story is anchored by a working-class, single mother played by Zoe Lister-Jones who goes on a journey to uncover the cause of her son’s mysterious illness and allergies. Interwoven are the stories of an organic farmer (played by Danny Glover) in danger of losing his farm, the CEO of a biotechnology corporation, two scientists on the verge of a major discovery, and an ex-cop caught in the middle of it all.
